Regulation

For a targeted reduction of the regulatory burden

What it is about

The increasing regulatory burden poses a serious challenge for Swiss companies. Complex reporting obligations, particularly in the area of sustainability, tie up tens of thousands of employees every year and cost hundreds of millions of francs - resources that are not available for genuine innovation and sustainable projects. At the same time, excessive regulations jeopardize competitiveness and inhibit entrepreneurial initiative.

Position of the economy

Market before state

  • The state should only intervene where necessary - with clear subsidiarity, minimal market distortions and regular review of interventions.

More freedom for companies

  • Entrepreneurial activity needs flexible, reliable framework conditions instead of excessive regulation.

Strengthening competition

  • Functioning competition is key to innovation, prosperity and low prices - government intervention must not hinder this.

Responsibility instead of regulation

  • Companies take responsibility for the environment and society - corporate social responsibility (CSR) works best without detailed government regulations.

Regulation with a sense of proportion

  • New rules must be proportionate, internationally coordinated and innovation-friendly - especially in the areas of finance and sustainability.

Cooperation instead of control

  • Sustainable development can only be achieved through cooperation between business, the state and civil society - not through unilateral obligations.
