New Board members and four new members

The general meeting of economiesuisse today elected 13 new members to the Board of Directors:

The newly elected Board member Christoph Aeschlimann, Group CEO Swisscom AG, and former Board member Juan Beer, CEO Zurich Insurance Group Ltd, will now also sit on the Board Committee, replacing former Board Committee members Michael Rechsteiner and Philippe Hebeisen.

Existing Board member Annette Luther, Head International Government Relations F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, will join the Board Committee as a representative of scienceindustries, replacing Matthias Leuenberger. She was also elected Vice President of economiesuisse. Former Board Committee member Stefan Mäder, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Schweizerische Mobiliar Holding AG, was also elected Vice-President of economiesuisse as a representative of the SIA.

New association members

The Board of Directors of economiesuisse has admitted four new members to the umbrella organization of the Swiss economy:

• Avenergy Suisse represents the interests of companies that import liquid fuels and combustibles. The members contribute to security of supply and supply both conventional petroleum products and renewable energy sources such as biofuels.
• Glencore International AG is one of the world's largest companies in the commodities sector. Founded in the 1970s as a trading company, Glencore now operates in over 35 countries and employs around 150,000 people and contractors. The company produces and markets over 60 different commodities.
• On AG was founded in Zurich in 2010 and specializes in the development of running shoes with patented cushioning technology called CloudTec. On operates internationally and sells running shoes as well as leisure and hiking shoes and clothing.
• Since 1973, the swiss export association has been supporting companies from Switzerland and Liechtenstein in their export activities. Today, the association has around 700 members from various industries. The association is committed to creating optimal framework conditions for internationally active companies.
